BRIEF ABOUT: Christel DeHaan, philanthropist and Cynthia Hartshorn, music educator of vocalist of Indianapolis; John Hiatt, singer, songwriter, Nashville, Tennessee; Mark Kruzan, mayor, Bloomington, Indiana and Traditional Arts Indiana, arts organization of Bloomington, Indiana; and Sydney Pollack (posthumous), producer, director, actor of Los Angeles, California were the six recipients of the 2013 Governor’s Arts Awards. “I am honored to recognize this year’s Governor’s Arts Awards recipients for their contributions to the state and the arts,” said Mike Pence. “These talented and passionate Hoosiers strengthen the culture of Indiana through their individual work, commitment to community development, and enthusiasm and support for the arts in their many forms.”
