Darla Ellis, a night-to-dawn driver made a quick call to Penske’s Maumee Road, Fort Wayne location which resulted in less than a 30 minute rescue of this baby kitty. The little black “jewel” somehow worked its way into the dashboard while Ellis was at another location.
Penske’s calm and cool mechanic Gale sized up the situation and methodically removed the parts and sitting in the storage slot, this wide-eye bundle of fur was slowly lifted out; and thusly as the cliché goes, “All is well ends well” found a new home with a Corrugated Supplies Company employee of the New Haven, Indiana plant.
Editor’s note: I can only think of that song sung by Sarah McLachlan , “In the Arms of the Angel” in regards to what happened and what I heard during this live event. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country. www.aspca.org
How Do I Love Thee?
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, — I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! — and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.Elizabeth Barrett Browning
