TITLE: Creature Comforts
BRIEF ABOUT: The exhibition features 15 artists from around the country whose work addresses the varieties of comfort, which contains a wide range of sculpture and installation art. The selected works combines various art forms to create a broader sensory experience by filling a space with the objects or sculptures, such as Austin Wolf of Freeburg, Illinois, whose work exhibits a series of five miniature machines that “explore the idea of creature comforts by almost going too far.” These hand-driven machines are relatable and serve a commercial function, but in a comical sense of having a machine to do everything. Other artists are: Michael Bednar, VA, Christian Benefiel, MD, Abby Bennett, CO, David Bogus, TX, Maria Duke, VA, Natalie Dunham, TN, Virginia Eckinger, MO, Maggie Gourlay, MD, Ron Longsdorf, DE, Rachel Timmins, MD and Sandra Wilcoxon, IL.
