Call for nominations

The North Dakota Council on the Arts has issued a request for submissions of individuals, organizations, educators and businesses for the Governor’s Awards for the Arts for the 2015 awards.

The Governor’s Awards for the Arts are biennial recognitions and the Nominees come from every North Dakota community, who consistently strive to better their communities through their commitment to the arts, being, not only those in the forefront, but also the many whose deeds often go unnoticed by most behind the scenes, whether they are businesses that give financial support, to the arts organization that presents the arts, to the teacher who finds money to bring the arts to his/her students; they are the links that have helped plan, shape and promote area arts events.

The nomination deadline is January 16, 2015 and can be made in the following categories: Individual achievement (artist, staff, volunteer, administrator); Arts organization; Arts in education (teacher, administrator, school); and Private business. The awards will be presented at a special public event on March 31, 2015, at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck.
