WHERE: Dahl Arts Center in the Ruth Brennan Gallery.
WHEN: Through April 30, 2016.
Evolution: A Retrospective
BRIEF ABOUT: This survey exhibit spans the past thirty years of Sarah Roger’s career as a fine artist. Her medium is watercolor and the subject matter of recognizable subjects of animals and birds living throughout the Black Hills environment.
Additionally, the focus of the Roger’s show is the artist’s handling of color, line, texture, space and the regard for how to move paint across a surface. Her style of painting has much to do with her background in graphics.
After receiving her BFA from the University of Florida, Sarah moved to South Carolina to work as a graphic designer. She later went on to New York City where she worked for a decade as art director for an advertising agency before moving to the Black Hills region where she now lives and paints in Sundance, Wyoming. Sarah is the recipient of a 2015 Wyoming Governor’s Arts Award.
