Artist group joins project

“Meditators” by Anna Green, acrylic on canvas, 60 x 30 inches. “While I still love the challenge of portrait work, a more animated portrayal of the female image has become my trademark. My “feminine spirits” have evolved from fairies, yogis and mermaids to women with attitude (the girlfriend’s series) all symbolizing the inner strength and grace of the female, regardless of culture, age or occupation. My paintings often evoke a smile or a chuckle, as the viewer can often see elements of themselves in each.”

Lark Gallery (http://larkgallery.com), city of West Hollywood, California and Art & Beyond magazine have joined hands in the project, “Evolve. Women. Wisdom.” to recognize International Women’s Month during March. The exhibition will be on display from Sunday, March 3 to March 23, 2019 with a reception from 3:00 to 6:00 pm in the Long Hall Gallery at 7377 Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood.

“Turkana Festival Woman in her Tent” by Nancy Ney, photography, 20 x 13.5 inches. “Why am I a photographer? I first began shooting because the experience of photographing people was a way of getting to know them and saving the experience. It made me feel really alive. Then, during my long advertising career, it became a terrific way to solve creative challenges. But still there was always, underneath, the element of wonderment. Now, as I travel and meet people from different cultures, who kindly allow me into their homes and environments, I am filled with awe as I look through the lens…”
