All about Detroit series in bloom

Showing through April 5, 2019 at Marygrove College, “A Community Collecting: Art from Northwest Detroit” exhibition is about their Defining Detroit series that consist of Detroit-focused lectures, readings, exhibits and performances.

     “Like Marygrove College, these artists continue to celebrate the rich history of their community, while also working hard to ensure its revitalization,” says Marygrove College President Elizabeth Burns.

The 2019 Defining Detroit  series opened with visual artists: Monica Brown, Felle, Asia Hamilton, Donna Jackson, Chazz Miller, Darryl Smith and Megan White.

Also on this series agenda, on Wednesday, March 20, journalist and author Desiree Cooper will read from her book, “Know the Mother” and other works in Madame Cadillac Hall.
