(NWPR-OH) – The Boos, Oooos, Aahhhs will roam the airways in the ‘Haunted Gallery’ at the Riverside Art Center in Wapakoneta, Ohio on Saturday, October 16 between 7:00-9:00 pm. No options will be accepted – be prepared to listen to ghost stories and haunting poems by Lily Marge Hill, who will unveil the written word in her audio storytelling style to provoke eyes-wide mental images.
Although secular today, the annual Halloween holiday which dates back to the Christian All Saints Day and the Celtic Festival of Samhain, is observed on October 31 when fun times range from wearing costumes, party-going, carving jack-o’-lanterns, ghost tours, bonfires, apple bobbing, including a gambit of other activities like trick-or-treating, committing pranks and viewing frightening horror films that produce those thrills, chills and goosebumps, the art center’s venue is only one part of their outreach to the community programming.
Local historian Jim Bowsher will be talking on superstition at Marley’s at 6:00 pm and in the ‘Orange Light District’ aka the Wapak Area Antique and Specialty Shops section, haunted tours run from 6:00-9:00 pm.
“The only light in the gallery will be from the guest’s flashlights and are necessary to be treated to the cookies and refreshments,” says Pam Knoch. “It is all very casual in an atmosphere of listening to the tales, sharing your own as well as mingling with the other ghosts.”
