“The school effectively combines a wide range of academic programs with the personal attention ordinarily found only at much smaller, upscale institutions,” said the editors. However, Miami’s commitment to liberal education and strong academic programs in architecture, business, economics, interior design, kinesiology, nursing, psychology and strategic communications, makes them a top contender in education.

Editor’s highlights were:

The Global Miami Plan for Liberal Education, which provides them a background in a range of disciplines and includes requirements in intercultural perspectives, global studies, advanced writing, and experiential learning.

“The Center for Social Entrepreneurship puts students’ creativity and business savvy to use in solving persistent social problems.”

The Scripps Gerontology Center, which conducts a wide range of aging-related research in areas that include demography, long-term care, program evaluation, the aging workforce, and arts and dementia programming.
