TROY, OH (NWPR) – On Friday, January 17, 2025 at 7:30 pm, the annual Mountain Dulcimer Society of Dayton concert at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center features mountain dulcimer artist Lorinda Jones. The concert is presented free to the public.
In addition, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, Jones will conduct a dulcimer workshop with the MDSD at the West Charleston Church of the Brethren in Tipp City, Ohio. For more details and registration see: www.daytondulcimers.com .
About
Lorinda began her career teaching music in public school where she developed a series of books for classroom ensembles. She went on to develop programs for adults as well as developing music therapy and educational programs for special needs students. She formed the Heartland Dulcimer Club, now an active non-profit organization striving to preserve the traditional music of Kentucky and southern Appalachia. She is the director of the Hartland Harp Ensemble and has an active career as a solo performer as well.
