(AAPNW-TN) – The Nashville Symphony is currently the forerunner to receive a $250,000 grant through the Pepsi Refresh Project. Finalists are selected based on voting results during December. To vote, www.refresheverything.com/musicmobile, or text Pepsi (73774) from your mobile phone with the message: 104869 (standard text messaging rates apply). Funding will go toward outfitting and operating the musical field trip on wheels for Middle Tennessee youth.
Placekicker for the Tennessee Titans and the Music Mobile’s spokesperson, Rob Bironas says, “Children, when introduced to music, are more likely to succeed in school and in life. Applying the same commitment to mastering an instrument can be as challenging as attaining touchdowns on a football field. I am proud to be a part of this project because it’s one way I can help share the life-changing power of music education.”
The Music Mobile has served more than 170,000 children and families last year by providing music-making experiences, live music demonstrations and multimedia instrument exhibits when it visits schools, community centers, parks and festivals.
