DAYTON, OH (NWPR) – Going on view on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Contemporary Dayton, Odili Donald Odita opens his exhibition, “3 Steps From Center” in the Ira H. and Susan P. Thomsen Family Gallery. The Public Reception begins at 6:00 pm with an Artist Talk by Odili at 6:30 pm.

Born in Nigeria and raised in the US Midwest, artist Odita’s work combines the aspects of his dual cultural upbringings which are foretold in his paintings, which are presented inasmuch like a quilted textile work that uses color, both in the figurative historical context and in the philosophical sense, as seen in his large-scale canvases with kaleidoscopic patterns and vibrant hues.
