(NWPR-OH) – Going on exhibit Saturday, June 4 at the Delphos Area Art Guild, “Barns of Indiana” features a collection of 50 oil paintings by Gwen Gutwein. According to DAAG’s Executive Director Judy Grone, “Gwen’s collection is on loan from the Ft Wayne Museum of Art.”
DAAG is located on the second floor gallery of the Delphos Museum of Postal History at 339 North Main Street and the opening reception is between 6:00-8:30 pm, which on agenda are a series of programs from the dedication of the ceramic collage, “Spirit of Delphos”; a reading of poem by Donna Rice from her newly published book, “Water Girl”; Music by folk artist, Songbyrd; Fundraiser Raffle for original art work donated by local artists: Vincent Whitehead, Frank Liljgren and Rev. Melvin Verhoff of St John the Evangelist Church; Handmade cards by DAAG members; hand-pulled relief print cards of the “Moenter Barn” by Kay Ahten ;Booth of original and prints by Vincent Whitehead; and wine, cheese and hors d’ouerves. In addition, the raffle tickets will be on sale during the entire exhibit and winners to be drawn on July 13.
The exhibit will be on view on weekends through June 30 as well as the Postal Museum will also be open on Saturdays 10:00-2:00 and Sundays 1:00-4:00. Admission is free and open to everyone.
