This is a true marriage of the Visual and Performing Arts. Like a magician, Todd Williamson has harnessed light and sound onto his new body of works. As Kandinsky interrupted Jazz and Caravaggio mastered light in their paintings, artist Williamson has brought both worlds together.
The journey with “Sounds of Light” exhibition will begin Friday, November 13, 2015 and remain on view through December 12, at the beauty venue of Premium Modern Art, Heilbronn, Germany. The Directors, Ted Bauer and Manuel Moosherr have organized an excellent exhibition that illuminates the art of Todd Williamson that is inspired by Times of the Day and Classical Music. One will be able to see the pulse and feel the rhythm in each of these paintings. They are in harmony with an inner beat of their own. Light is a constant inspiration for Williamson. In several venues on this tour Williamson’s works will be accompanied by live music.
Another exhibition that will run simultaneously in Naples, “Surveillance: The Art of Being” or “Polifonia di un Paesaggio” will open November 24, 2015 at the Villa di Donato. It is a culmination of over a year’s work where Williamson worked with composer Greg Walter of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Together, works of art and music were arranged to achieve a symbiotic experience. To preview these mixed disciplines of art and music, see: https://youtu.be/UaznW3nW35I.
