Ball State University alumni Ned H. and Gloria Griner are honored with the dedication in their names, the Ned and Gloria Griner Art Gallery in the Art and Journalism Building on the Muncie, Indiana campus.
An emeritus Ball State professor of art and arts advocate, Ned (1928-2017) retired from Ball State in 1994 after a 41-year teaching career, 33 of which were spent at Ball State. He began the metals program, taught throughout the art curriculum, and served as department head from 1970 to 1981. Gloria is an emerita Ball State assistant professor of music education, taught piano and music education, and was a performer and accompanist at Ball State for 30 years.
Ned graduated from Ball State in 1950 with a bachelor of science in industrial education and visual arts. Gloria graduated from Ball State in 1954 with a master of arts in music. The couple supported Ball State University, the College of Fine Arts, and the David Owsley Museum of Art, as well as the arts in the community.
