Artistry is deep-rooted

The black soil farming country of Kansas where Cheri Wransoky grew up and the red clay in north Georgia where she lives and raised her children on 30 lush green acres, are not only deep‐rooted, but also has been a creative influence. Her sculptures philosophizes man’s kind and unkindness and how humans interact with their surrounding environment.

In her works, she combines roughly textured coil and slab hand‐built pieces with recycled objects. “The objects have an effect on the outcome which may be a happy surprise or disturbing,” she said. Cheri also is intrigued with entrances, exits, keys and locks in relationship to human existence which are expressed in her theme‐related pieces shown.
