Artist’s works connects self with nature

Untitled (Linen) by Lindsy Halleckson.

BLOOMINGTON, MN –  (PNAN) – Opening Thursday, January 5, 2017  at the Artistry in the Bloomington Center for the Arts, “Free Time” features the work of Lindsy Halleckson in a solo exhibition which focuses on the mindfulness and the connection with nature.

Artist Halleckson believes that among the many relationships that define the human condition, our connection with the environment is primary and that reconnecting to the land is key to finding peace within ourselves. Natural silence and space plays in personal well-being.

In her work, the painting surfaces and its color are built up over many weeks and months, starting with a wet canvas and using acrylic paint, thinning agents and other acrylic media. The resulting richness, subtlety and depth of color pushes the limitations of the acrylic media while creating a final product that is commanding and emotional yet understated.
