Bill and Jamie tapped for board

     (AAPNW-WV) – Two new decision-makers have been appointed to the Board of Governors at West Virginia University. Wheeling resident William D. Wilmoth and Parkersburg’s James “Jamie” Six both received their appointment by Governor Earl Ray Tomblin that began February 2.

     “I am so pleased that Bill has accepted the appointment and will serve our state’s flagship university,” said Governor Tomblin. “Though he graduated WVU sometime ago, Bill remains dedicated to educating future leaders at his alma mater and I believe he will be a valued addition to the Board of Governors.”

     As Managing Member of the Steptoe & Johnson Attorneys, Wilmoth has also served as a United States Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia.  In addition to his legal career, he served as a law instructor at West Virginia University and is a guest speaker at continuing legal education and industry seminars on commercial litigation and white collar crime issues.  Currently, he is a board member of West Virginia Independent Colleges and Universities and a board member of the Education Alliance of West Virginia.

     Six is currently in his 25th year as the Wood County Clerk. “Jamie will be an excellent addition to the Board of Governors at WVU-Parkersburg,” said Gov. Tomblin. “One of Jamie’s children currently attends the University. As a community leader and also as parent, he has a vested interest in the future of the University and its programs.”

     Over the years, Six has served on the West Virginia Association of Counties Board of Directors and the Wood County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He is also an active member and past president of the Rotary Club of Parkersburg.
