MISSOULA, MT (PNAN) – On Saturday, November 12, 2022, the Montana Museum of Art and Culture is hosting a free symposium titled: “Focus on Figure” honoring members of the Pattee Canyon Ladies Salon from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Montana Theater in UM’s PARTV Center.
The symposium features a morning session with lectures on the history of life drawing by MMAC director Rafael Chacón and Kristi Hager on the history of the Pattee Canyon Ladies Salon, which is Montana’s oldest active group of contemporary women artists, with Leslie Van Stavern Millar.
The afternoon session includes a panel discussion with current salon members and models moderated by Margaret Kingsland.
In addition, their exhibition, “Focus on the Figure: The Pattee Canyon Ladies Salon, 1989-2022” which runs through January 7, 2023, guided tours are slated for November 17 and 26; December 1, 8, 15 and 22 and January 5, 2023.
