Going on view to the public on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Arts Place, Auglaize/Mercer Center in St. Marys, Ohio will be the exhibit “Chromatic Bloom” with the works of Rhonda Hager.

Hager grew up in rural Delphos, Ohio.  Her passion for art began as a child with crayon murals on her parent’s walls.  Her first art teacher, Pat Rayman inspired her love for painting.  Hager attended Ohio State University for two years exploring majors that seemed “sensible” but continued to take art classes as electives. Her passion for art, lead her to the Columbus College of Art & Design for two years until she married Jay, a soldier in the Army.

This past summer was Hager’s turning point. “Our children were both graduated from college and in their careers and I felt like I needed to get serious about pursuing my dream of being an artist,” Hager says. “As a birthday present, I attended an all day painting workshop and discovered that I had everything I needed to pursue my dream.  I needed to trust God, believe in myself, and just do it.”

The public is invited to the opening reception which begins at 6:00 pm. For more information, call Mary Novin at 419.394.0707. The show remains on view through May 26, 2016.
