Classic tales will beguile goers

(NWPR-OH) –  On Sunday, March 6 at 3:00 pm, the Lima Symphony Orchestra will present “Four Fables,” their annual family concert for all ages with stories that have enchanted generations of children in the Crouse Performance Hall, Veterans’ Memorial Civic and Convention Center in Lima.

Remembered mostly from Walt Disney’s Fantasia, the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” begins the show as well as to be joined by larger-than-life body puppets from Madcap Productions in Cincinnati.  The musicians will bring Ichabod Crane to life with “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” then take the goers on a merry, whiz-banging caper with “Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham.”

The concert ends with one of the oldest-known fables, “The Firebird” with the grace and beauty of shadow puppetry from Madcap Productions.
