Stitched, embroidered, woven or sculptured, fabric has a texture for design like no other media. Eager to serve the needs of the private and public sector, award-winning international American fiber artists create an impressive selection of wall, floor and sculptures in 3D that amaze and enlighten.
Founded in 1996, Fiber Artists Collective (FAC) consists of selected artist members, who range from as far eastern as Pennsylvania to the coasts of California. Each member has a distinct fabric media that are featured in craft shows worldwide. Jeanne Petrosky and Dennis Guzenski, from Pennsylvania are an example of an amazing team that have been collaborating their designs since 2002. Other well-known artists such as David Bacharach, Martha Fieber and Libby and Jim Mijanovich are also among these artists that go beyond the bounds of paint to portray a natural presence of all types of materials.
Some of the shows include the American Craft Council San Francisco Show, the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show and American Craft Council Atlanta Show. If you have ever wanted to be a part of an exciting group of professional contemporary fiber artists and feel you have what it takes to become a member, contact Deborah Bruns Thomas at the member website www.fiberartists.org.
