(NWPR-OH) – The Wassenberg Art Center in Van Wert is now taking registrations for a new class in learning drawing skills, for adults (18 and older). “Come Over to the Right Side,” an exercise in using the right side of the brain (the part that controls creative ability), will be held Mondays, August 1, 8, 15 and 22, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The cost is $45 for members and $55 for non-members.
Hope Wallace, Executive Director of the art center, says, “This class is designed to develop better skills in drawing. People at all levels of drawing skill will benefit as they learn to access the sometimes elusive right half of the brain.” The instructor, Pat Rayman, notes that people are sometimes surprised to find how well they can draw using these techniques.
Supplies needed: Drawing pad, paper or Bristol paper pad, pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B), colored pencils, kneaded eraser, black ink pen (any size).
Preregistration is required. Class size is limited. To register, call 419.238.6837 or e-mail wassenberg@embarqmail.com. Information about classes can be found at www.vanwert.com/wassenberg.
The art center is located at 643 S. Washington Street, Van Wert, Ohio.
