The South Dakota Governor’s 7th Biennial Art Exhibition goes on view from Friday, August 19 through Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City, South Dakota. This exhibition is a celebration of the tremendous quality and unique diversity of artistic creativity within the state.
The biennial exhibition serves as a historical record and this 7th biennial is a juried exhibit which received over 360 entries of which 51 works were selected to hang with the pieces from the nine invited artists chosen from the jurors from the four participating institutions.
This year the South Dakota locations include the South Dakota Art Museum, Brookings from December 23, 2016 – April 16, 2017; John A. Day Gallery at the University of South Dakota, Vermillion from May 8 – July 28, 2017; and the Visual Arts Center at the Washington Pavilion of Art and Sciences in Sioux Falls, SD from September 30, 2017 – January 14, 2018.
