Taking the reins on May 16, former curator of exhibitions at the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach, Florida, José Carlos Diaz becomes the Andy Warhol Museum, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, its Milton Fine Curator of Art.
“We are thrilled to welcome José Carlos Diaz to the Warhol team,” says Eric Shiner, The Warhol’s director. “José’s background in curation in both Miami and the United Kingdom is global in outlook and eclectic and thought-provoking in content. He comes to us with equally dynamic ideas for future exhibitions here at the museum that will help us to rethink and redefine Warhol for the 21st century.”
“I am excited to have the opportunity to contribute to Andy Warhol’s legacy through the creation of dynamic new exhibitions at The Andy Warhol Museum,” says Diaz.
The Andy Warhol Museum is located at 117 Sandusky Street. For more information, call 412.237.8300 or see: www.warhol.org. The Warhol is one of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
