Different ‘strokes’ by dual creators

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF (PNAN) – On view through Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Jack Fischer Gallery, “atmospheric distributions” is a two person show of landscapes and portrait observations painted from two very different points of view by Kirstine Reiner Hansen and Lisa Golightly.

“Erasurescape No 8” 26 x 32 inches, oil on linen, by Kirstine Reiner Hansen.

Artist Hansen’s paintings explore the surreal with the sure hand of Old Masters, coupled with expressionistic touches. Her current art continues to evoke the earlier work that is informed by a collagist’s sensibility which are jarred by the rhythms of the colors and shapes that adds to the disruptive aspects of the imagery as the tonal fields begin to break up.

“Quiet Lake”, 10 x 12 inches, acrylic on aluminum panel, by Lisa Golightly.

Paintings by artist Golightly are imbued with a sense that evoke empathy and familiarity. We have seen these people before, friends and neighbors, in an idyllic bucolic summer vacation, however their features remain somewhat hidden, keeping the viewer paradoxically at arms-length. The landscapes bind the figures in beautiful forms of light and shadow by the layering of the paint.
