(AAPNW-OH)- There is a saying, “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure,” and there is the Akron Art Museum that is putting those words into action on Saturday, November 20. “Island of Misfit Toys” workshop is all about creating your own while having lots of holiday family fun.
Participants can choose from three time slots: 11:30 am to 1 pm; 1:30 to 3:00 pm; and 3:30 to 5:00 pm. Pre-registration is required by calling 330.376.9186×247 or see www.akronartmuseum.org. All tools and materials provided; cast-off toys and items from home are welcome. Donations of clean but unwanted or broken toys are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off in the museum’s lobby through the day of the event. In addition, there is no fee, but we ask that each family brings one new, unwrapped toy to donate to a child in need.
Bring the family down to the museum to break, bash and build using bits and pieces from electronic toys, stuffed animals, action figures and odds and ends to create brand new, one-of-a-kind sculptures.
