(PNAN-GA) Besides an Award of Excellence for “Lord Love You: Works by R.A. Miller from the Mullis Collection” exhibition, the Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia took eight other awards at the Southeastern Museums Conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that comprised also publications as well as those related to the exhibition. Darcie MacMahon of the Florida Museum of Natural History wrote, “…the judges were enamored by the work, particularly the ‘Lord Love You’ campaign.”
Since March 2009, the museum has been closed, undergoing a $20 million expansion with renovations, but its offsite programming offsite has been a continued part of its “GMOA on the Move” initiative, like the exhibition ‘Lord Love You’ that was on display at the Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens, Georgia. The show featured 83 paintings, drawings, sculptures and whirligigs created by Georgia self-taught artist Reuben Aaron (R.A.) Miller.
