Grant applications filing open

      (APPNW) – Tuesday, October 12 at 4:30 pm, the window closes to file online grant application through the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) for grants through its Technical Assistance Program. To submit, login the Indiana Cultural Grants Online site at: http://indiana.cgweb.org. The TAP grant is available to any Indiana private, nonprofit, tax-exempt agency, or an Indiana public entity such as, a division of city, county, or state government.

     The projects are for the time period of January 1-December 31, 2011. Applicants need to identify realistic strategies for developing individual and organizational skills in one or more IAC strategic priorities including: building stronger arts organizations; developing communities through arts partnerships; revitalizing a creative economy and workforce; and advancing the role of the arts in education and personal development.    

     “The Indiana Arts Commission firmly believes that healthy arts organizations help to build vibrant, healthy, creative communities in our state, but challenging times often mean all groups need additional skills and resources to be successful partners in community life,” said IAC Executive Director Lewis C. Ricci. “The Technical Assistance Program supports established and emerging institutions and artists, helping them to develop effective leadership, sound management practices, diverse financial resources, and successful partnerships.”

     In addition to the above, Thursday, October 7 is the grant filing deadline for the Arts in Education Projects program, which  is open to any Indiana pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public, private, or parochial school, can be also filed on line through the ICG online website.

     Funding for 10 to 12 applications with grants up to $3,000 is expected. Those applying must match dollar for dollar the IAC grant awarded with school funds, contributed funds, in-kind donations, or services.

     Also in the guidelines, funding may not replace or add to existing resources as well as the project activities needs to take place during the scheduled school day during  January-December 2011 as well as cannot fund afterschool or summer activities.
