(NWPR-OH) – Showtime begins at 7:30 pm on Saturday, November 13, and who: Neil Jacobs, a master of the acoustic 12-string guitar, offers the audience a range of mesmerizing orchestral compositions from playful to melancholy sounds, all performed without the aid of overdubs, looping or special effects on five of his favorite 12-string guitars.
While maintaining his own refreshing energetic style, this free public concert covers a full spectrum of styles and dynamics, touching on music diverse and varied as Gypsy, World, Balkan Folk, Jazz, and Fingerstyle guitar. Noted by the St. Louis Riverfront Times as “mesmerizing” and the Austin Chronicle, “The rockin’est since early Leo Kottke,” Jacobs draws his artistic motivation from not only actual experience, but also the many places visited around the globe.
Released a couple years ago and his most ambitious solo CD, “12-String Guitar,” features many of his never before released concert classics such as, “Ghostrider Medley”, “Belfast”, “Song for Huddy”, and “Moscow Calling.”
