TITLE: Christo & Jeanne-Claude: Natural Interventions.
BRIEF ABOUT: A documentary exhibition which explores several of the installations of artists, who are known for applying materials into the natural environment to create artworks. They have mostly worked with the medium of fabric, spreading it over monuments, art museums, fountains, walkways, trees, and even coasts and valleys. Since 1961 Christo and Jeanne-Claude have installed their temporary site-specific artwork worldwide. From the Umbrellas in Japan and California to the Gates in Manhattan’s Central Park, these artists have become world famous for their transformations of the environment. An artist’s reception is Saturday, July 9 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in conjunction with the free Arts in the Parks family Chinese Fan Dance class.
