RAPID CITY, SD (AAPDN) â âThe Curious Art of Jerry Rootâ is on view until Saturday, January 20, 2018 in the Inez & Milton Shaver Gallery at the Dahl Arts Center.
    Being a self-taught artist and a lifelong resident of Rapid City, Root honed his skills at sign painting, which led to designing casino signs that were being sent all over the world.
This survey exhibit brings to life this artistâs vivid imagination, including his passion for life-at-sea with works from hand-built and carved ships in bottles to animal wood carvings, paintings and signs.
