(AAPNW-MI) – On view through April 3, at the Kresge Art Museum in East Lansing, works of art by Amy Jo Brown, Deon Foster, Clarissa R. Gerber, Jesse Howell, Ann Marie Martens, Bryan Prillwitz, Jacquelynn Sullivan and Lei Zhang, who are Master of Fine Arts degree candidates at Michigan State University, features installations in painting, sculpture, printmaking, graphic design and ceramics. This exhibition marks the culmination of a three-year MFA degree program that emphasizes extensive creative exploration.
“This is an exciting time in a student’s life when they summon the courage to present their work to the world. We congratulate them all and are very happy to present their creative efforts in the Kresge Art Museum,” said Michael Rush, Director of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum.
Gallery talks are scheduled at 11:30 pm by the students on Tuesday, March 29, with Foster, Gerber, Martens and Zhang, and on Wednesday, March 30, Brown, Howell, Prillwitz and Sullivan. “This exhibition is an excellent example of student creative endeavors being shared with external audiences in a public environment,” said Tom Berding, Chair of the Department of Art & Art History. This particular exhibition also continues the history of successful collaborations between the Department of Art & Art History and the Kresge Art Museum, setting the stage for exciting future possibilities.
