TITLE: Watercolor Journaling
BRIEF ABOUT: This master class is presented in partnership with the Minnesota Watercolor Society, where Sandra Muzzy (www.sandramuzzy.com) will show fun and easy-to-manage techniques in watercolor, ink, colored pencils, markers, mono-printing, and collage to help artists develop their own personal style, including the artist will also discuss a variety of book binding options. “This fast-paced workshop is designed to get you to jump into personal journaling with small intimate paintings and sketches of who we are, what moves us and what is happening in our day and the world around us,” says BTAC’s Director of Education Paul R. Coate. Previous watercolor experience is helpful but not required.
Muzzy is an award-winning water-colorist and a popular teacher. As a child, while enduring long illness, she was taught that boredom was not an option; this is a philosophy that has guided her life. She teaches her students that they must not wait for the extraordinary, but rather to paint the ordinary. “Creativity is what I teach,” says Sandy. “It is the process of creating art that inspires me – how we all bring our different strengths to the table.” Muzzy teaches from her home studio in Bloomington, Minnesota as well as at various locations in the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.
