On Saturday, October 2 and Sunday the 3rd, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, Bear’s Mill’s “Legendary Fall Open House” will bustle with not only those host of traditional activities, but also live music flowing in the airways as well as Nancy Rush, who penned “My Mother’s Child”, will be on site from 1:00-4:0o pm on opening day.
In conjunction, the 2010 Ohio Solar Tour will be also featured with chosen guided tours of such as, solar, wind, biomass, green design, and energy-saving technologies around Ohio communities. “Bear’s Mill has a small hydroelectric generation system installed in the power house located by the dam,” said Ray Lepore, engineer and board trustee. “This site is a wonderful teaching laboratory. The turbine is easily accessible, as are all mechanisms and controls. There is much development work to do yet, but the system is fully functional and generates power.”
