(NWPR-OH) – Opening Friday, May 13 at Arts Place, Collective Center, “Letters to Ohio” is an exhibit by artist Elizabeth Kauffman, who says, ““The idea behind the show is letter writing, and a feeling of being isolated from loved ones. So the typewriter is symbolic, as well as something I actually use to add text to the drawings.”
Kauffman is earned a Bachelor of Arts in Painting from Xavier University and from University of Cincinnati, a Master of Fine Arts in 2D Media: Painting, Drawing and Performance and a Master of Arts in Art History: Modern and Contemporary Art with a minor in Japanese Art. Currently, she is a member of the Graduate Art Faculty and serves as Director of Galleries, Exhibitions and Collections at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and her work is included in collections at the University of Cincinnati.
