WHERE: Museum of International Folk Art
WHEN: Begins Sunday, February 5, 2012.
BRIEF ABOUT: Free to New Mexico residents with ID, Museum of New Mexico Foundation members, and youth under 17 years old, programming will begin when Akeem Ayanniyi and Agalu take the stage at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm with a rousing West African drumming and dance performance.
At 2:00 pm, the New Mexico Centennial Children’s Author Vaunda Nelson, will talk about her award-winning book. She received her inspiration to write Almost to Freedom from the black dolls in the museum’s Girard Wing.
