This exhibition features new and recent work of five contemporary artists, Yvonne Buchanan , Brandon Ballengee , Peter Edlund , Aaron Miller , Dorene Quinn , who examine literal and metaphoric loss and disappearance.

Their artistic practices employ diverse media to reflect the anxieties of living in a rapidly changing world. The exhibition provides a complex and engaging context for considering our history, our current environment and our collective future.

Currently on view is Under Pressure: Redefining the Multiple, a collaboration between RoCo and the Print Club of Rochester. Featured printmakers are:

Ellen Heck earned her BFA in printmaking and painting from the art Institute of Chicago as well as a BA in philosophy from Brown. Heck is a two time Elizabeth Green Shields Foundation Grant recipient which aids growing artists and students in furthering their training in their early years of artistry. She has exhibited in over ten different states and internationally. She currently has works in the Wally Workman Gallery, Groveland Gallery, Davidson Galleries and Kala Art Institute.

     Jenny Robinson moved from London to San Francisco, receives most of her inspiration for her industrial prints. She earned her BA in Fine Art Print Making from West Surrey College of Art and Design in England and has exhibited in galleries such as, Davidson Galleries, Warnock Fine Arts and Kala Art Institute. In addition to teaching printmaking in schools like San Fransisco Center for the Book, Institute of Contemporary Art in San Jose and Chico State, she also has been a resident artist at the Kala Art Institute as well as Hartford School of Art.

     New York City resident April Vollmer, works almost exclusively in Mokuhanga Japanese Woodblock. Her work has taken her all the way to Japan where she participated in Nagasawa Art Park Program. She has exhibited nationally and internationally at AIR Gallery, Islip Art Museum and Kentler International Drawing Space as well as teaches classes and  lectures. Her work has been published in the Japanese Woodblock Print Workshop, Mid American Print Council Journal, Art in Print and others.

     Rochester, New York Heather Swenson earned her BFA in Painting and Drawing as well as in Printmaking from SUNY Purchase. She has been lecturing and exhibiting in various up and downstate New York locations.
