TITLE: Alina Szapocznikow: Sculpture Undone, 1955‒1972
BRIEF ABOUT: The show is making its only Midwestern stop at the WEX, will consist of about 100 works by this late Polish artist, in one of the first large-scale surveys of her work outside of Poland. Featuring vulnerable, sexualized, witty and sometimes biographical work, the internationally touring show includes Szapocznikow’s mixed-media sculptures (made from such materials as polyester resin), as well as photographs, watercolors, drawings, and archival and documentary material.
