TITLE: Romantic Titans

BRIEF ABOUT: Guest soloist pianist Terrence Wilson (www.terrencewilsonpiano.com ) along with Music Director Neal Gittleman and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestrawill present the works of three musical giants which comprise the program.

     Queens of the Night, giant serpents, a prince, a young maiden who needs rescuing, a bird catcher dressed as a bird, hot air balloons, mysterious cults and a magic flute.

     The Magic Flute opens each evening and manages musically to depict all the exciting experiences, joy, madcap confusion, and downright silliness of his last great completed work.

     Brahms’s Symphony No. 3 concludes the program.

Terrence Wilson, a graduate of The Juilliard School, is one of today’s most gifted virtuoso pianists. He has received numerous awards and prizes, including the SONY ES Award for Musical Excellence, an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and the Juilliard Petschek Award. He has appeared with more than a dozen of America’s major symphonies and worked with such distinguished conductors as Marin Alsop, Christoph Eschenbach, Alan Gilbert, Neeme Jarvi, Yoel Levi, Andrew Litton, and Jesus Lopez-Cobos.
