BRIEF ABOUT: The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Principal String Quartet will present String Quartet Gems, the first concert in the 2014-2015 Chamber Series.

     The Quartet is comprised of Jessica Hung, Concertmaster; Kirstin Greenlaw, Principal Second Violin; Sheridan Currie, Principal Viola; and Andra Lunde Padrichelli, Principal Cello. For this opening engagement, the quartet will be joined by Deborah Taylor, Principal Double Bass.

     On the performance program will be works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Antonín Dvořák and David Baker, Professor of Music and Chairman of the Jazz Department of the Indiana University School of Music and Conductor-Artistic Director of the Smithsonian Jazz Masterwork Orchestra. Note: Baker will be at the 2:30 pm pre-concert lecture to give audience members insight into his “Summer Memories”piece.
