Art-to-Art Palette Journal

OH: Van Wert

The last sessions of our first quarter classes are ready to begin in just a short time at the beginning of March. They are beginning to fill so hurry and sign-up! Beginning Drawing for adults has been created for the artist inside all of us. If you have wanted to draw but don’t feel quite confident to put that pencil to paper take this class. It is fun and starts with the very basic concepts of good drawing skills. It is not difficult, only fun. For those who have had some rudimentary drawing experience our other drawing class, Basic Anatomy, also taught by Matt Temple will help learn some of the proportion scaling and foreshortening techniques. Matt has a degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in animation and a degree in art from Defiance College. He is well equipped and experienced to demonstrate these techniques.

Female Cardinal in Winter by Doug Heckler.

Oil painting with Sally Geething continues, we love her energy and sense of fun around the art center and this transfers into her painting classes two-fold.

Classic Watercolor with Pat Rayman is also coming up. This class demonstrates how watercolor is used and usually includes new techniques Pat has invented or discovered. Same class name always different class activities. Beginning Photography with Wassenberg Camera Club president Doug Heckler will remove the mystery from that piece of “automated” equipment in your hands.

We have Paint with Wine tonight and a glass mosaics class coming up shortly. Check our website for further information and for added convenience, you can even sign up and pay right online. Classes can also be configured for company parties and/or outings. One time sessions can be a great way to build morale, kick back and have a little fun outside work. Call me at the art center for further information.

The 2012 Ohio Watercolor Society Exhibit is getting ready to head our way for another show of bold beautiful color, techniques and styles. This is a delightful exhibit is the traveling portion of Ohio and surrounding states award winning watercolors. The best of the best! This year’s reception will be held on Sunday March 4, and will involve a tea reception featuring 3 different types of teas and an unusual and delish h’orderves menu.
