Old methods live on in show

EAU CLAIRE, WI (PNAN) – Showing in the James W. Hansen Gallery, Potters of the North: A Tradition in Wood Fired Pottery” at the Pablo Center at the Confluence is an exhibition where the tradition of wood fired pottery  continues by the potters who are dedicated in the ancient art of Japanese wood firing.

Their hand-crafted artworks reveal a deep connection to history and terra firma. When burned, wood creates ash which floats through the atmosphere of the kiln and falls on the surfaces of the pots, creating an ash glaze.

On Friday, December 16, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 pm there will be an Artists Reception and at 6:00 pm, an Art Talk will be in the in Riverfront Room.
