Open call to artists

SPEARFISH, SD (AAPJ) – The Matthews Opera House and Arts Center has issued an invitation for artists within approximately one hundred miles of the of the Black Hills in the South Dakota/Wyoming region to be juried into the non-profit art gallery. This call is open to new artists as well as artists who have previously been contracted with the Matthews.

Artist applications are to be submitted online before 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at: www.matthewsopera.com/cfa

    The Matthews seeks artists whose work will be showcased through the end of the year. During the jurying process, the Gallery Committee will be assessing applicants based on the quality of work submitted and the needs of the gallery in terms of aesthetic balance and diversity.

Jurying takes place on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. All artists who have applied will receive notification of the jury findings on Friday, August 21, 2020.
