WILBERFORCE, OH (AAPNW) – Viewing now at the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center (NAAMCC), “2022 Art of Soul” is an annual national juried art exhibition in its ninth year.
The show’s theme, “Black Love” represents perspectives related to the African diaspora and African American culture and history. The exhibit consist of 43 works of art by twenty-nine artists, and at closing on Saturday, February 25, 2023, an Awards Ceremony will take place.
“What we want to do is act as a platform for the voices of people who have been telling their stories already all this time,” said Hadley Drodge, Curator for the National Afro-American Museum & Cultural Center. “We can be this centralized location for everybody to come and tell their stories.”
The show was judged by a panel of art educators and artists, Dr. James Haywood Rolling Jr., Rev. Dr. Rene Wormack-Keels and Marshall Shorts, who reviewed all entries and selected the artwork featured in Art of Soul.
