(NWPR-OH) – The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will present the first concert in the 2011 edition of the Graeter’s Symphony Sundaes Series with a performance on Sunday, February 20 at 3:00 pm in the Scottish Rite Auditorium of the Dayton Masonic Center.
The February 20 concert will feature young violin virtuoso and Ohio native Chad Hoopes as soloist in Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5. Also on the program is Franz Joseph Haydn’s overture to the comic opera Il mondo della luna (The World on the Moon) and the Symphony No. 1 by Ludwig van Beethoven.
The concert is followed by an ice cream social with the musicians, featuring a complimentary scoop of Graeter’s ice cream for each concertgoer. Other concerts in this year’s series include The Symphonic Mozart on April 10 and The Symphonic Sibelius is May 1.
