Sisters’ works are an ‘eye-healing’ view

(NWPR-OH) –  They have more than a common bond as sisters; they also are in the medical field. Laura Wolery is a medical doctor, while Janet Wolery is a dentist. But they are also united in the field of art, exhibiting their works at the St. Rita’s Medical Center Mezzanine Gallery through December 30.

From her studio, “Contemporary Glassworks” in Delaware, Ohio, Janet creates jewelry from dichroic glass beads, paperweights, plates, wall hangings and many other items.  She has exhibited nationally and her glass artwork is in a number of museums and private collections through the US.

For many years, Laura was employed by Inniswood Botanical Gardens in Westerville, Ohio, producing over 150 botanical illustrations. “I consider myself an experimental colorist,” she says, but her paintings tell more: vibrantly colored acrylics as well as her work may contain an embedded message layered in the image. She currently lives in Delphos.

On Sunday, December 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, ArtSpace/Lima will host a reception for the sisters, doctors and artists in Gallery and the public is welcomed. For more information, www.artspacelima.com or call Bill at 419-222-1721.
