(NWPR-IN) – Tucked away in a remote corner of northeast Indiana lays a refuge for some of the most beautiful animals in the world. This sanctuary for rescued and retired exotic animals was started by Karen Hoag, husband and young daughter with a few potbelly pigs, llamas, black Welsh mountain sheep and African ostrich.
The sanctuary had grown to include chimpanzees, black bears, Bengal tigers and several other exotic animals with no place to go, and today Black Pine Animal Park is a haven for once popular animals that have been discarded by society. Still amazingly as well as personable and tame, these creatures provide the perfect place for animal lovers and artists to achieve a harmonious reunion with creatures of the wild.
