State capitol to bustle with artworks

COLUMBUS, OH (AAPNW) – On Saturday, April 2, 2022, the April Gallery Hop will feature never-before-seen works by Columbus artist and great American voice, Aminah Robinson at Hammond Harkins Galleries and eight additional new exhibitions at local galleries. Goers can also expect to see street performers, vendors and an array of special promotions at local businesses.

The first Spring official Gallery Hop will bring fresh new and some never-before-seen works to the Short North Arts District featuring works by artist Robinson, including the monumental Presidential RagGonNon, dedicated to Barack Obama, re-envisioned with additional works from the Presidential series and previously unseen related works, organized by guest curator Deidre Hamlar from the Columbus Museum of Art.

     Throughout the district, new exhibitions include artworks from local artists Amy Schuessler and Duncan J. Snyder at Sarah Gormley Gallery; Todd Jones at Emergent Art + Craft; David Kuntzman at Marcia Evans Gallery; Alejandro Bellizzi at Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio; Daniel Ferlan at Sharon Weiss Gallery; and Jennifer Jolley Brown at Studios on High Gallery. Also on the agenda in the Short North Arts District’s outdoor works, viewers can take in the sculpture garden at Sherrie Gallerie, featuring unique ceramic pieces by Russ Vogt as well as the many more vibrant public artworks.
