In a time of terror and global threats, one has to retreat inwardly for our own sanity and security. Gandhi and Buddha taught that war was never a solution. Fortunately, I have found some amazing artists that give us a sense of tranquility and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Through prayer, mediation, communication and living by the Golden Rule, we can bring about lasting peace. To find that inner peace, it is helpful to gaze upon or into mandalas. This exhibition is a physical manifestation of the spiritual that transcends the temporal.
A mixed media sculpture, “Phoenix” by David Gardner gives us the feeling of being lifted out of our own ashes, including it seeks the bliss out of the architecture left standing.
The “Banyon Buddha” by Anita Rosenberg captures the Cambodian Buddha in his glory of calm.
“Rose Mandala” by Ivan Butorac expresses the beauty of nature as seen through his photographic third eye.
The “Transcendental Meditation” mandala of 24k mixed media by William Emboden, gives us a true point of focus to go deeper into our safe place in our subconscious.
“Spring 2” (homage to Rene Magritte) by Mirza Davitaia, refreshes the soul with hope.
“Nude On Lily Pad” by Hal Yaskulka entices up to dream and our wishes will be fulfilled upon awakening.
And finally, we are blessed by the paintings of the Tibetan priest P T Lama. His tales of the Buddha in oils on canvas centers the entire studio.
The exhibition gala opening is Friday, April 17, 2015. Come meet the artists and kindred spirits at M D Art Gallery at 7952 W 3rd Street in Los Angeles.

Although they all speak in a universal language to me, I am completely intrigued by P T Lama’s subjective work, however Rosenberg’s ‘collage of medias’ lends much thought, but then William Emboden weaves many hidden images – one with, so to speak, allows me to “walk into the valley….I fear no evil…”
